1. What is an Online Consultation and how will it save me money?

An online consultation is a consultation with a professional over the internet. The time and costs associated with an office visit, such as missed work, gas, parking, etc., can quickly add up.  OnlineConsultation.com allows you to consult with a licensed professional over the internet, providing you with immediate information and other services at your fingertips without the burden of such costs.

 

2. How much will an online consultation cost?

Setting up an Online Consultation Account™ is FREE.  You can choose how detailed you want the professional’s response to be: basic, intermediate or advanced.  The professional will cater his/her response accordingly and may charge a fee based on the type of service you have requested.

We have integrated PayPal into each Online Consultation Account™, allowing you to pay for services electronically using PayPal’s secure system. Interactive Technologies, LLC does not oblige you to use or pay for a professional’s service if you do not wish.

Please note that if you do decide to pay for services, it is critical to click the “Return to Merchant” button after making your PayPal payment for immediate access to the information or document prepared for you. If you fail to click the “Return to Merchant” button, contact us at support@onlineconsultation.com to provide proof of your PayPal payment so that we may release the consultation for you manually.

 

3. Are Online Consultation Accounts™ more secure than standard email?

Standard email accounts are not encrypted and are susceptible to viruses that can easily spread. Your email communications are vulnerable to being intercepted, altered, and forwarded, all of which increase the risk of unauthorized distribution, thereby disseminating sensitive and confidential information. Moreover, standard e-mail does not live up to state and federal laws and guidelines.

Our messaging system, the Online Consultation Account™, is one of the safest and most confidential messaging systems available. Messages and uploaded files are stored on an encrypted secure server that has security procedures in place to prevent unidentified parties from accessing your information.  Both clients and professionals are required to have a username and password of at least seven letters and one number. You are free to delete messages, files or entire consultations. To delete your account send an email request to support@onlineconsultation.com.



4.  What kinds of questions are commonly asked?

Non-urgent questions that need professional guidance are best and/or medical questions that do not require an immediate physical examination.

Examples:

You can expect a response in one to three business days. If you fail to receive a response, we suggest that you refine your question, and for medical questions, that you direct your question to a primary care practitioner. 

Online consultations are inappropriate for urgent, highly sensitive or high-risk health care issues or highly time sensitive legal or financial matters. 

 

5.  Are my online consultations confidential? 

Our Terms & Conditions oblige professionals to keep your information confidential.  Although this is a topic you should discuss with each professional, in most cases the law also places a duty of confidentiality on many types of professionals (i.e. attorneys, doctors, etc.). 

If you send a consultation request to a specific professional, only the professional you have specified has access to the message(s) you sent. If you send a consultation request to multiple professionals, all the professionals in the specialty you have selected can read the message; we advise that you withhold sensitive details until a specific professional has responded to your request.

The professional only sees your first name and last initial, unless you decide otherwise.  Your personal details are not used for any other purpose by Interactive Technologies, LLC, nor are they disclosed to professionals or any other third party.

 

6. Who are the professionals in your system?

The professionals in our system are licensed attorneys, doctors and financial experts who have set up an Online Consultation Account™ to provide services to clients securely over the internet.

We encourage users to make multiple professional requests, when appropriate, as a means of getting a second and third opinion. It is impossible to provide, and Interactive Technologies, LLC does not, warranty or guarantee that the person you are communicating with is the professional whose Online Consultation Account™ we approved. Clients must use caution and take all reasonable steps to verify the credentials of each professional they communicate with.

 

7.  Can I have my existing professional provide me with an online consultation?

We have made it easy for you to request your existing professional begin offering online consultations and/or other services over the internet. By inviting a professional, we will send your professional an email letting them know that you are interested in the benefits of online consultations and request that they set up a secure Online Consultation Account™. This may be done anonymously if you do not wish to indicate your name.
